THE SUPPORT AND LIAISON OFFICE

The Support and Liaison Office, or S&LO, is a Dutch based, relatively small office, with the overall aim to assist in the effective implementation of the two ongoing Demand Driven Research Programmes: the Health Research Programme in Ghana (HRP) and in the Biodiversity Research Programme (BRP) on the Philippines. These research programmes have the aim to develop innovative North-South research partnerships.

The S&LO office is located in the Netherlands, and is executed by  ETC Foundation in Leusden. It receives support by DGIS (the Dutch Ministry of Development Cooperation), separately from the two research programmes.

On this site you will find information on the S&LO and links to BRP and HRP. The site also contains working documents relevant to the Dutch institutions collaborating in these programmes.

The main objective of the Support & Liaison Office is the facilitation of an effective implementation of the Demand Driven Research Programmes, BRP and the HRP, in the Netherlands. The specific objectives of S&LO are:
* Effective functioning of the Joint Programme Committees (JPC) and the management and co-ordination units (National Support Secretariat; NSS) of each of the research programmes;
* Adequate provision of information about the programmes, the research approach as well as the achieved results to Dutch researchers, and to a broader public in the Netherlands involved in research for development co-operation;
* Good access to information on relevant knowledge and experiences in the Netherlands for the Southern participants in the partnership programmes.
