The Support and Liaison Office (SLO)

A Support and Liaison Office in the Netherlands linked to both Demand Driven Research Programmes was part of the original proposal to DGIS. The S&LO was granted to ETC in Leusden, by DGIS for a period of three years (from 1 July 2001 until 30 June 2004). ETC took over full responsibilities of RAWOO on 4 September 2001.

The main objective of the SLO is the facilitation of an effective implementation of the Demand Driven Research Programmes; the BRP and the HRP. The specific objectives are:

  • Effective functioning of the Joint Programme Committees (JPC) and the management and co-ordination units (National Support Secretariat) of each of the research programmes;
  • Adequate provision of information about the programmes, the research approach as well as the achieved results to Dutch researchers, and to a broader public in the Netherlands involved in research for development co-operation;
  • Good access to information on relevant knowledge and experiences in the Netherlands for the Southern participants in the partnership programmes.
